Scripture

1 Kings 1:1-3

[1]In his old age King David was confined to his bed; but no matter how many blankets were heaped upon him, he was always cold.

[2]“The cure for this,” his aides told him, “is to find a young virgin to be your concubine and nurse. She will lie in your arms and keep you warm.”

[3](3-4) So they searched the country from one end to the other to find the most beautiful girl in all the land. Abishag, from Shunam, was finally selected. They brought her to the king, and she lay in his arms to warm him (but he had no sexual relations with her).

A man's gift is ordained to create room for him and bring him to the corridors of greatness.

You have something that makes you unique. It is different from what every other person has. This ability or capacity or attribute is specially endowed on you as part of your unique packaging for life.

You live better when you live from the side of your strengths and talents. Yes, these two sets are what makes you a star: Your strengths and talents.

Your strengths are personality traits, behavioural patterns or elements of your character that endear you to people. They are areas of expression that you have control over. Some of us are good with making quick but solid decisions, some are patient, some are enthusiastic while others are self sacrificing. These attitudes make us special and loved.

Our gifts are abilities that flow from a place of control and dexterity. Things we can do with ease or expressions about us that are unique. Some can sing, talk, write, and dance very well, others are good with figures, playing games, modeling and so on. Abishag, had a unique gift of beauty. Yes beauty is a gift, height, size; these are gifts; skin complexion, appealing body shape, unique physical features like eyes, fingers, lips and so on; these are all gifts. You are an embodiment of gifts.

Abishag's beauty brought her to the palace, to solve a problem for the king; her gift made room for her in the palace before the king. The King she served also became a King as a result of the strengths of his character and the dexterity of his gifts. This is what gifts and strengths are packaged for - To bring us into the corridors of greatness. You can't be this gifted and be stranded in life. Get excited your becoming great is a function of grace, it's a settled case because you have been carefully packaged for it.

Holy Spirit cause the light of my strengths and gifts to shine brightly and open strategic doors for me in Jesus name.
